Error when disabling internal laptop screen

Per default I have this configuration for my laptop in place:

monitor = eDP-1, 1920x1200, 0x0, 1
monitor=,preferred,auto,1,mirror,eDP-1

eDP-1 here is the internal laptop screen. If I am putting my laptop into the dock, I run this script to configure my external monitor and disable the internal screen:

hyprctl keyword monitor desc:Dell Inc. DELL P2723D FFJV1L3,preferred,0x0,1
sleep 3 # desperate try to give Hyprland some time to sort things :shrug: 
hyprctl keyword monitor eDP-1, disable

What happens after that is, that I can still switch workspaces and existing applications are running. But if I try to start new apps, such as Firefox or rofi I get errors like this:

Maybe [ERR] [/usr/src/debug/hyprland/Hyprland-0.49.0/src/protocols/core/Compositor.cpp:276] enter() called on a non-existent output global is a hint there.

yeah, something's not cleaned up right. What's your hyprland version?

Also:

• does this happen if you just change the config file directly and save?
• if so, does this happen if you start up hyprland with that config already?

Yes, this also happens when I change the config file instead.

if so, does this happen if you start up hyprland with that config already?

Nope. If my monitors are configured before starting hyprland, everything is fine.
That is my current workaround: Set it in config and then restart hyprland

I think I might enjoy something like shikane? easier to configure than having a custom script that handles every event
