IDK, using hyprland since v0.47X

Description

When trying to maximize a window via Gtk Headerbar maximize button or for example firefox maximize button nothing is happening,however Qt apps with CSD work. Tried it with VLC skin mode, that has maximize button and it works.

Woudn't that mean this part of the protocol is not working correctly, if they need to be maximized althought they are not ? Also isn't renderer broken when it does render windows correctly, would try how legacy renderer works with this, but it got dropped a couple of commits ago.

Found another problem related to client maximized state handling in Hyprland in the wild: Thunderbird calendar event windows.

I thought they're just borked when tiled, but after I disabled suppressevent maximize window rule, it became clear that they are not less borked. They just remember that they were "maximized" and request to be maximized when open. If request is ignored, they fail to draw properly until resized. If request is honored, they are just maximized and draw properly.

BTW, a bunch of apps have this behavior: remember maximized state and want to be maximized when open, i.e. LibreOffice. It is a valid behavior (if they draw properly).

Would you consider adding protocol-strict XDGShell handling model (tiled_* states, no fake maximized) alongside current model, maybe as opt-in via window rules?
