The Dgraph4j repo contains instructions on publishing artifacts to Maven:

Neither command ./gradlew publish (does not even build any artifacts):

BUILD SUCCESSFUL in 577ms

nor ./gradlew uploadArchives work:

Task 'uploadArchives' not found in root project 'dgraph4j'.
