How about a FAQ page?
With simple answers and links to other sections maybe.

I think it's a good idea, but I'd like to 'pend' it until we've sorted out the basics of what we are going to do about the filing system

Is learnosm confusing enough to need FAQ? Are there actually some consistently asked questions which cannot be solved by improving contents?
