The problem

After updating to 2025.1.b0 and at least up to b2, there is no more automatic backup done before a core or add-on update, even the option to allow such backup has disappeared from the update UI.
I guess we don't mind the last, as I think everyone does want a backup before any update anyway, but the fact that there is no backup at all is a real issue.

Current workaround is to do a manual backup before any update.
