Description
Set the
use_proxy
argument defaults tofalse
.A proxy setting is ALWAYS disabled by default (OS network settings > Proxy, web browser's proxy settings, etc.).
It's quite unexpected to have it enabled by default here (it took me HOURS to understand why Ansible was unable to SSH to the remote host).
Moreover I'm pretty sure that most of the Packer/Ansible users are using it for VMs with SSH, so they set
use_proxy = false
