Overview

We need to create a section for one of the 311-data tools, ALPHA, to add to the workshop slides. It seems like the tool was initially made for a neighborhood council (NC) member. We need to identify the member and reach out to obtain feedback about the tool so that we can present it properly.

Action Items

  • Reach out to Pras from the 311 team to ask about the NC member and if there's been any feedback
  • If no feedback, reach out to the NC member directly for feedback

Reached out to Pras: Thomas from Echo Park NC (NC member) asked for an extract for the ALPHA tool which was provided, and there was no feedback after they followed up. After looking thru member names from the meeting minutes of Echo Park NC (EPNC) in 2020, it seems like it could be Thomas DeVoss who was Chief Information Officer. He's no longer on the NC (Liz Staley is the current CIO). So far, haven't found any mention of the ALPHA tool in the 2020 EPNC meeting notes, but there is talk of a CIO report-- maybe that could be mention the ALPHA tool.
Will research a little more on the EPNC website of ALPHA mentions. Otherwise, will try to find a contact for Thomas DeVoss, or reach out to Liz Staley (email is listed on the EPNC website).

Also, ALPHA tool currently has data 2015-2020. There's a ticket to add the missing 2021/2022 data, but no ETA.

Went through all NC meeting notes and did not find any mention of the ALPHA tool. I drafted an email for Thomas to ask whether he is familiar with this tool, and if so, if he can give us feedback so we can incorporate his input into our workshop.

Specifically, the email asks Thomas the following questions: Whether he is familiar with the ALPHA tool, what is the ALPHA tool used for, how has he used the tool (can he walk us through it), was he able to successfully use the tool for his intended purpose, and does he have any comments/concerns about the tool. I received feedback on my draft from Stephanie, and I will send Thomas the email once I get approval from Lucy and get access to the Access the Data email account.
