Although the master branch of that repository does not compile any more, the 2.2.0 version https://github.com/vkholodkov/nginx-upload-module/tree/2.2.0 which is the last "released" version works fine. I haven't test it with 1.8 but it works with 1.7.7. It would be great if you could put it back in the extras package again.

any chance you would be kind enough to release a, for example, nginx-extras-1.8.0-1 version that would include upload module as well? I am still stuck with 1.2.8 :(.
