Is there a way to set a custom IP address for http tests?

Is there a way to set a custom IP address for http tests, similar to how curl --resolve works?

curl --resolve example.com:443:127.0.0.1 https://example.com

I would like to have the feature and I might even be tempted to try and implement it myself.
