Blurred Break Screen flickers every second

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a pdf with a lot of text
2. Do a break in Gnome Pomodoro
3. Watch as the Screen looks slightly different with every second

Background should stay still

Hi, thank you for reporting the issue.

For the record, could you include your GNOME Shell version, screen resolution and the graphics card / drivers? Do you use HiDPI?

I too used to experience minor flicker. I don't experience it in GNOME Shell 44.3 with an old Intel integrated graphics card. No HiDPI. 2560x1440.

There is little that can be done here - the blur effect is implemented in the GNOME Shell and I don't see how it could be reimplemented in js and have good performance. Maybe increasing BLUR_SIGMA in /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/[email protected]/dialogs.js would help?
