Why doesn't the highlight square follow the logic of the popup for positioning?

Was having repeated issues with the highlight not being able to highlight the correct position but the popup always was pointing correctly. Why don't they share the same logic for positioning since the popup is always more correct than the highlight?

I don't have much to go on based on the image.
Is the highlight appearing at all? If not, try setting a background color on the body; it may be a quirk from mix-blend-mode.

No highlight is appearing but in wrong position it has a top value of -600px which is wrong and got me wondering if the tooltip shows in the right position why the highlight is not?

@gilbarbara here is another sample that might explain it better. The tooltip shows in correct place but the highlight should be highlighting those 4 add company boxes
