User story

As a curator
I want to be able to update the datacite metadata by clicking the mint DOI button in the admin page
So that I can update the datacite metadata easily

Acceptance criteria

Given a published dataset exists
And that dataset already has a DataCite DOI minted with status "Findable"
When I click the mint DOI button in the dataset admin page
Then the DataCite metadata is updated with the current information in GigaDB
And the datacite XML payload is saved to the curation log, even if the mint action fails for any reason

Additional Info

At present the mint action appears to work because when I check in DataCite Fabrica I can see the updated metadata, However, the dataset admin page never completes the action, i.e. the notice "minting underway" remains on the page, never replaced by the minting completed, And the payload is not saved to the curation log.

Product Backlog Item Ready Checklist

  • Business value is clearly articulated
  • Item is understood enough by the IT team so it can make an informed decision as to whether it can complete this item
  • Dependencies are identified and no external dependencies would block this item from being completed
  • At the time of the scheduled sprint, the IT team has the appropriate composition to complete this item
  • This item is estimated and small enough to comfortably be completed in one sprint
  • Acceptance criteria are clear and testable
  • Performance criteria, if any, are defined and testable
  • The Scrum team understands how to demonstrate this item at the sprint review

Product Backlog Item Done Checklist

  • Item(s) in increment pass all Acceptance Criteria
  • Code is refactored to best practices and coding standards
  • Documentation is updated as needed
  • Data security has not been compromised (with particular reference to the personal information we hold in GigaDB)
  • No deviation from the team technology stack and software architecture has been introduced
  • The product is in a releasable state (i.e. the increment has not broken anything)

Minted the DOI of the dataset 102661 today, no success message appeared
Image
In DataCite Fabrica, DOI minted almost instantly, but not findable
Image

I edited the DOI form manually and it should now be findable

Hi @only1chunts
I believe the behaviour described in this ticket is no longer happening, so can be closed?
