The hdf5-rust project is currently not actively maintained by the author, with the consequence of no new releases on crates.io and a number of issues related to the maintenance of the project.
As part of the discussion the owner has been willing to move the project to some suitable organisation aldanor/hdf5-rust#299 (comment). I want to know if the georust community is accepting of this sort of crate and whether I can propose author of hdf5-rust transfer the project to the georust organisation.
As for me: I have been actively maintaining the hdf5 crates, and have created a fork to benefit downstream users. I am also a maintainer of georust/netcdf, which targets mostly the same audience.

Hi @urschrei, yes, the metno/hdf5-rust fork will be deprecated and the aldanor/hdf5-rust project could be moved under the georust umbrella. Any improvements in the fork will be brought over after adoption
