In the latest Edge (beta, Version 132.0.2957.55 (Official build) beta (64-bit)), chrome.developerPrivate doesn't exist.
Is there something you have to do in flags to enable it?
NOTE: This is NOT related to the Chrome vs. Edge webstore. I'm getting this regardless of which version is installed.
