Totally agree ! With this feature medium-zoom would became the best choice to replace heavy library like Photoswipe.

That's a duplicate of #60.

You could build this feature of top of the Medium Zoom API, although transitions would probably not be optimal.

I worked on a plugin API POC a few years ago which was designed to support such use cases. I didn't finalize it as I figured it wasn't aligned with the original purpose of this library. I may reconsider this in the future if requests keep coming.
