No IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter on Windows 98 #23

Hi,
I can't seem to get this to show up when I install the protocol. When I try to connect I get the error 751. I assume this is related to not having IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter?

You need to have the IPX/SPX protocol installed and the server will reject the connection if you don't support IPX, so that is probably why. Error 751 isn't what I'd normally expect to see though:

Quote from here:

751 - The callback number contains an invalid character. Only the following characters are allowed: 0 to 9, T, P, W, (,), -, @, and space.

Are you not able to add the protocol for some reason?

I was able to add the protocol yes. My NIC works fine for TCP/IP. Could it be a router issue?

I have the same issue on Windows 98 SE, whenever I add the IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol it does not add the IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter.
I do have IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> Dial-Up Adapter 2 (VPN support), and I do have the VPN adapter added, including a NDISWAN -> Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter, but I cannot add the IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter.
