Looks like Connected App setup issue and not an issue with argument provided by the user.

@dieffrei Does this command curl -v <Salesforce_Org_URL>/services/oauth2/token -d "grant_type=password" -d "client_id=*CLIENT_ID_GOES_HERE*" -d "client_secret= *CLIENT_SECRET_GOES_HERE*" -d "username=*[email protected]*" -d "password= *your_password_goes_here+* return you access_token ? This ensures connected App is setup correctly.

I got the same issue, and the curl command return me an access token :

EDIT : It works if I use the my.slaesforce.com URL returned by the curl command, and not default .salesforce.com URL.
