What I'm really looking for is direction on how I can alter an object's value in a before hook, then allow it to continue on its way.

This seems like a bug to me but I can't get conformation on the intended/supported use cases.

Can someone please label this as a feature or a bug? If it's a bug, I'll submit a pull request.

@pksunkara can you look into it?

I can confirm on my tests that this behaviour is still happening.
Has anyone decided if that's the intended behaviour or a bug?
