Buffers inputs for too long, keeps scrolling for a long time if I scroll a lot at once

jiq scrolls very slowly, and when I scroll in large motions to scroll through a lot at once, it just slowly scrolls to the destination over the course of the next couple of minutes and buffers signals like ^C and even ^\ to the end of the scroll so I have to wait for it to finish scrolling to exit. Please implement faster scrolling and limit the size of the input buffer.
