I'm using a "Lilygo-Internet-POE" board and have been able to flash my "bin" file to it using an USB cable. I can connect the board to my POE switch and directly connect to the board using the "visit" button from with the ESPHome UI. I've tried with and without setting a OTA password. All OTA update attempts fail with the "WMB" error. When I use the esphome UI to see the "logs" of the device, I can see whether the password is or isn't defined (currently it is defined).
from my computer's command line, I can properly ping "lilygo-test.(My Domain)" and it returns the proper IP address (i.e. my DNS sees and returns the IP of the board) It seems like "OTA" just isn't functioning. What am I doing wrong (I'm a noob with esphome)? |

Serial flash uses the "modern" format. OTA update uses the "legacy" format. |

I'm actually having the same problem. I already found out that I could update the device by uploading a "legacy format" file via the web interface. But the normal "ota-via-the-network-directly-from-the-esphome-addon" way doesn't work for on of these boards. It does for another (also the same lilygo POE board). Not sure what causes this. |
