[Question] Apply node style from dictionary or string

First, thank you for this repository. This is really cool stuff!

Is there a way to apply the node style via dictionary or a css style string? I see a fair amount of code related to parsing, but I'm struggling to understand how it might fit together to support a more declarative approach.
