It might be a dumb question but if someone wants to try emojicode simply he will currently use 1.0 beta 2, but since there were new commits since, will the user be missing changes? And it would show that Emojicode is not dead, which is always a plus!

@thbwd please chime in if I'm off base, but I think the author of this repository doesn't have enough time currently to keep this project going. As I'm unaware of any other admins for this project, I think we are stuck waiting for them to get back to it.

I personally am really interested in keeping this project going and improving it, so if there isn't much movement in the near future, I may just start doing earnest development in my own fork. If it comes to that, I'd be happy to have others contribute there.

@joeskeen Thanks for pinging me. You're right that I don't have enough time to spare for Emojicode these days. If you would be willing to help maintain Emojicode that would be awesome.

Lots of things are broken or out-of-date, though, by now: Emojicode currently builds against a now-old version of LLVM. The last time I checked Travis CI wasn't working correctly either. Also, while there's still remarkable interest in Emojicode, only a few people are actively trying to contribute.

If you would like to take on maintaining Emojicode please let me know!

Absolutely interested. I'll ping you on Gitter if that's alright and we can set up a time to get together and discuss the vision of the project and what needs to be done to get me started maintaining it.

Any update on this? And also, what would it take to try to just make it work with new versions of LLVMs etc? Honestly my knowledge is only limited to Typescript (and a liiitle bit of Rust) and I don't think that's even used at all in Emojicode, but I'm curious to see what would be needed in order to revive it. Maybe I could try and see?

@Alixxx-please I would really like to get this moving. I haven't had a chance to get together with @thbwd as of yet, but I'd be happy to meet with you and figure out what we can do to start the project back up again, either here or on a fork.

I might just be very little useful because of my somewhat limited knowledge, but if you think I could do something, then sure, we could plan that! If you want the fastest answer, you can dm me anytime on Discord by adding me: glougloutin

Apologies, I was very bust last summer and I lost track of this. @joeskeen Could you send me an email to [email protected] if you are still interested in maintaining the project? I don't really check the Gitter regularly and I missed your messages there. @Alixxx-please Please feel free to also reach out to me too if you are interested on working on Emojicode! Maybe we can schedule a Zoom meeting together.
