I'm trying to send messages to the LKML including several recipients using git send-email, and I'm getting this every time:

5.0.0 Error: transaction failed, blame it on the weather: cannot send message: [2511] Recipient could not be found

The messages then get sent to no one.
I tried 2 different messages to different sets of recipients, but both failed with the same error. Could it be possible to at least show which recipient isn't found? That is, if them not being found is actually true.

This error is coming from the ProtonMail API. Can you run in debug mode and post the logs (with sensitive parts removed)?

Doesn't look like there is anything sensitive to remove considering everything in it will be public on LKML eventually, so here is the log unmodified

Eeek. The log contains API tokens. Please revoke all active sessions in the PM settings and ideally change your password.

The message should appear in your drafts folder. Can you manually hit send from the browser, and capture the request body for that last POST request? That way we can compare it with hydroxide's.

Open the message from the drafts folder, then open the network tab in the devtools, hit send, click on the last POST /api/messages/* request, click on the "Request" tab, copy the payload.

  • It's a multipart form, we use JSON
  • [email protected] doesn't seem to be in the recipient list?

I have this issue every time I send device tree patches. I have to login to WebUI and press send in the draft box.

The issue no longer happens when invalid recipients are removed.
For example, https://lore.kernel.org/all/[email protected]/
