404 when trying to log in with custom homeserver

I get the following error if I try to use https://zkat.tech as my homeserver. It's an Element-hosted server so I don't know what details I can provide about its setup? matrix.org login works fine.

This obviously depends on how the homeserver is configured but have you tried to prepend matrix. to your domain like https://matrix.zkat.tech/? I remember that this is what I had to do to log in successfully however, I don't remember whether it showed a 404 error or any other error and I didn't use an element-hosted server.

@zkat If it is a configuration issue, it is possibly to do with the client well-known file. See here for the expected set up: https://matrix-org.github.io/synapse/latest/setup/installation.html#client-well-known-uri

@pixlwave I had to use zkat-matrix.ems.host. I can't just use the "well known" address. Logging in with just zkat.tech works fine on FluffyChat, though.
