This larger update fixed several issues due to newer JVMs, the IntelliJ IDE and lots of small bug fixes and improvements.
0.4.2 - Planned for September, 2021
Focus: Improvements in AndHow configuration
This release be compatible with the 0.4.x releases, but will change best practices for configuring and initializing AndHow to be easier and more streamlined. Several methods related to 'legacy' configuration will be deprecated but still present in this release.
One new feature is planned: Manual Exports, which is discussed in a separate discussion post.
0.5.0 - Planned for September, 2021
Focus: Removing deprecated methods and classes and some refactoring
There have been some places where early API decisions need to change, but that cannot be done without breaking users code. This release will allow AndHow to change its API and users can upgrade when they are ready.
Promote any default methods in interfaces to implementation classes, e.g. the Property interface.
Export APIs have been added and extended and may need to have the original implementations removed or at least moved to a new package.
0.9.0 - Unscheduled
Focus: Add module-info.java files for module support in JDK 9 and beyond (thus the '.9' name)
Major switch to JDK9 build and JDK9 compatible jar. After the switch to JDK9, it may not be possible to create a JDK8 compatible jar without maintaining a separate branch. If that is the case, it may just be easiest to drop JDK8 unless a lot of users object. JDK8 users could continue to use the 0.5.0 release.
