Steam compatdata location is wrong if game has been installed to a microSD card as a storage location

I want to mod inscryption, it is located on a microSD card, the game's compat data is stored on the decks internal storage for some reason. The mod manager tries to use microSD card storage as the common data is located there. The common data does not exist on internal storage. How do I override the compat data location r2modman tries to use when steam decides to be stupid?

Or how do I fix this and properly relocate the compat data to the proper location?

Focus on file location and app ID's

The common data location automatically chosen by the mod manager is correctly located on my SD card, however it also assumes the compat data is in the same storage medium. For some reason this isn't the case. Compat data is located on internal storage, why? who knows!, I definitely don't understand it.

I found out this is not a bug with steam, but intended behaviour. Meaning the mod manager needs to be updated. I may file an issue report later.
