If dealing with sensitive information, currently the only way to upload a document so that it isn't run through OpenCalais is through the secure flag via the API.
This could be tricky for a reporter without programming skills. It would be great if an organization could set a default for all uploads to use secure: true.
For feature completeness, you could add an option in the document upload dialog edit options to override this (or perhaps there is already a manual "re-run OpenCalais" button that would satisfy this ability). However, my use case would be satisfied without this override.

I would also like this feature to be added. For organisational reasons we would like to be able to upload without sending the document for processing with openCalais. It would be great if this could set by organisation and an optional checkbox on upload. thanks
