The team overall liked the ore concept of your idea, especially how the core facts of the news articles will be aggregated without bias. However, we do have some concerns.
As the lecturer touched on, we are interested on how your voting system will be implemented without encouraging bias, the thing your concept wishes to eliminate. This is because such a system is likely to encourage bias from people since they can just up-vote what they like, and down-vote what they don't like.
Having this project serve as a platform for debate and discussion is also a cool idea, but moderation is an issue. There is no way to guarantee that all the users will be unbiased and civil with their discussions and this might affect the validity of the topic and discourage others from participating in the space.
Verification of the news topics and what is reported may also be an issue, as you can't be certain that journalists will report the news without some sort of bias 100% of the time.
Overall the idea is an interesting one, but the management of the features will be difficult. We hope these points of concern will aid you in developing your concept further and best of luck in the coming weeks.
