Markdown : lists (bullet vs. em dash)

Actually each line of an itemized list starts with a bullet : • (Unicode U+2022, HTML • or •).

According to the french typographic rules, it should start with an em dash : — (Unicode U+2014, HTML —, — or &#8212 AFAIK)
