Description

While running the DBeaver application with multiple monitors installed, opening a menu item and dragging it to the second monitor makes the menu window disappear and results in an unresponsive DBeaver application. This forces you to restart the application to regain control.

DBeaver Version

Operating System

macOS 14.4.1 (23E224)

Database and driver

No response

Steps to reproduce

  1. Insure multiple monitors installed and configured
  2. Open the DBeaver application on Monitor 1
  3. Top left: DBeaver > "Settings..."
1.mov
  1. Drag the menu window on to Monitor 2 and the menu window disappears
2.mov
  1. back on Monitor 1 observe the DBeaver application is no longer interactive and requires restarting the application to recover
3.mov

Hi @geoff-beaven. Thank you for the report. I'm unsure right now if it's our bug or a macOS bug, as I'm experiencing similar issues with other apps at times. For example, yesterday, I similarly lost a Brave window. In any case, our devs will investigate it.

I also found a workaround: when the window is lost, trigger the mission control. The lost window will appear on Monitor 1. While in the mission control, d&d the window on Monitor 2 again, and it will appear.

Also, this bug is triggered if the settings window is not full-sized. If it is full-sized (to do that, double-click on its title bar), then it d&ds normally.
