Firstly, thanks to the devs behind DBeaver for making a product that's both awesome and also embraces open source. As a former macOS user, I found my transition to Linux to be very smooth in most areas, with the major exception of database management. This happened to coincide with a period of not using databases nearly as often, but when I did I limped along with Libre Office Base and CLI. And it was painful. Somehow, I had never heard about DBeaver until last week, and now I'm in love.
It could be dumb luck, or me living under a rock, I'm not sure, but it feels like DBeaver is not spoken of very often, at least not in the FLOSS/Linux communities I frequent. I definitely plan to change that though.
Two minor notes though: the Snap does not work by default on Ubuntu 16.04, due to a missing x11 connection. Connecting it manually gets it working. And DBeaver doesn't seem to display it's menu properly under Unity, so that's also a 16.x issue. Seeing as 16.x is EOL soon (and with it, Unity) I concede these probably aren't the highest priority issues. I'm mainly mentioning them here for the sake of any future Googlers.
