Newer versions of Darktable still doesn't work with Gimp

Describe the bug

As earlier described by another user here, newer versions of Darktable still don't work with Gimp. I had to revert to 4.61 (with newest Gimp 2.10.38) to make it work.

Since it has remained unsolved for over half a year, I think it is worth keeping open.

Steps to reproduce

1. Update Darktable to newest version (5.0.0).
2. Try to open a raw file with Gimp.
3. Gimp complains that it cannot find a raw plugin.

Solve by uninstalling Darktable, and installing older 4.61 version instead.

I had to revert to 4.61 (with newest Gimp 2.10.38) to make it work.

On the GIMP side, the code to work with the new darktable interaction protocol was added to the codebase on May 25th, 2024.

GIMP 2.10.38 was released May 2, 2024.

Therefore, it will be more accurate to say that latest stable version of GIMP still doesn't work with Darktable.

There are no problems. A stable version of GIMP with code to interface with new versions of darktable has not yet been released. GIMP 2.10.38 does not contain this code. This completely describes the situation. I don't understand what we are discussing further.
