how to fetch payload from dagu api like params ?

Hi,
I am having scenario like i need to pass payload to dagu and need to fetch payload from start api to tasks so that i can manage do required things.

Can you provide any example ?

And also how to fetch params varibles when command type is python ?

Hi, you can pass parameters like this.

dagu start [--params=<params>] <file>

Then you can use parameters in the DAG.
E.g.,

params: param1 param2
steps:
  - name: some task with parameters
    command: python main.py $1 $2

or

params: ONE=1 TWO=`echo 2`
steps:
  - name: some task with parameters
    command: python main.py $ONE $TWO

iam calling dagu api like below
url : http://ip:8080/dags/test4?action=start
method: POST
now i need to pass payload to this and need to fetch by dagu..
and also when iam using below file
`params: key1
steps:

• name: step1
  command: "python"
  script: |
  print(key1)`

getting error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/root/.dagu/dagu_script-934039183", line 1, in
print(key1)
NameError: name 'key1' is not defined

can you provide example yaml so that we can fetch payload or params from the REST API call ?

Hello, that needs a small fix.

- params: key1
+ params: "key1=''"
steps:
  name: step1
    command: "python"
    script: |
-    print(key1)
+    print($key1)

I have tried with below you suggested changes
`params: "key1=''"
steps:

but getting error like
File "/root/.dagu/dagu_script-2275954185", line 1
print($key1)
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

iam using dagu v1.10.5 version is there any version issue ?

Ah sorry, turns out that variables in script field won't be expand right now.
You can create a normal python script and pass the key1 as a variable like so.

params: "key1=FOO"
steps:
  - name: step1
    command: python main.py $key1
