Loading

  • Set role="menuitem" attribute to all items (top level and sub items)
  • Set role="separator" attribute to all separators
  • Set aria-haspopup = "true" to the top level items
  • Set role="menu" to the div element that encloses the menuitems in the popupContent div
  • Set role="menubar" to the root menu div
  • Set aria-hidden="true" to all span elements under the menuitem other than the caption (e.g. the submenu indicator icon, shortcut)
  • Set aria-label="some text" with default value and ability to alter it
