CryFS architecture is compartmentalized enough so that it should be
relatively easy to use it as a library. The priority currently is the rust
rewrite though and that isn't ready enough to be used yet, so it'll take a
while until I can take a look at offering a nice API.

I'm looking for in-app filesystem, similar to zbox. Any hope we'll additionally have cryfs as embeddable app library, without OS-specific dependencies like fuse?
I noticed you're in a process of partial or full rewrite in rust, which is awesome for various reasons. I'm specifically interested in rust library. Thanks.
