Note that the value of the crowdin_branch_name is env.BRANCH_NAME - this is the name of the current branch on which the action is running.

Download only translations without pushing to a branch

It's possible to just download the translations without creating a PR immediately. It allows you to post-process the downloaded translations and create a PR later.

You can use the Create Pull Request GitHub Action to create a PR with the downloaded translations.

Download Bundle

Target file bundles or simply Bundles is the feature that allows you to export sets of strings or files in the formats you select, regardless of the original file format

You can use the download_bundle option to download the bundle from Crowdin:

Note If you are using a String-based project, you need to use this option to download translations. The default download_translations option does not work for this type of projects.

The download_bundle option accepts the bundle numeric ID.

Advanced Pull Request configuration

There is a possibility to specify labels, assignees, reviewers for PR created by the Action.

Custom crowdin.yml file location

By default, the Action looks for the crowdin.yml file in the repository root. You can specify a custom location of the configuration file:

Separate PRs for each target language

You can use the matrix feature of GitHub Actions to create separate PRs for each target language:

Checking out multiple branches in a single workflow

If you need to checkout multiple branches in a single workflow (e.g. a matrix of feature branches), you'll need to disable the automatic checkout to the GITHUB_REF by using the skip_ref_checkout option:

Handling parallel runs

In case your action fails when a build is in progress (409 error code), you need to configure the workflow in a way to avoid parallel runs.

Run test workflows on all commits of a PR

Every time the job runs and there is already a PR, all checks will be invalidated and not run again (because the action will force pushes even if the translation has not changed).

(Related issues: #34, #142, #221)

To avoid this, add a custom PAT to the checkout action:
