Description

Both Podman Machine and CRC (of which OpenShift Local is a specific productization) use native virtualization. Over the past couple of months, we have converged on the use of the userspace networking stack (gvisor), macOS virtualization framework (vfkit) and the Windows management layer (libhvee).

The next phase is to create a single library for the management of the virtual machines, that can be used between both projects. This will aid in the testing strategy and standardize on the virtualization drivers.
