Clients/auditors need to ensure that they are indeed receiving the latest STR from the directory. The main problem here is: After missing multiple epochs, how does a client/auditor know what the latest epoch of a directory is?

Some ideas:

  • Clients can omit the EndEpoch when monitoring to indicate that they are requesting every STR up to the latest epoch
  • If they receive newer STRs from auditors, clients must request additional STRs from the directory
  • alternative: clients can query auditors before monitoring with the directory?
