Description

Many of the FAQ questions we have right now go like "What is XXX?", which begs for a definition. If feels like we could just have a section covering common terms in the conda ecosystem, aka a glossary, aka a condactionary.

I while ago I put together this website to annotate packaging terms as I onboarded this field: https://jaimergp.github.io/scientific-packaging-glossary/. It might be useful to recover that.

Tasks

  • Find a nice way of rendering a glossary in Docusaurus. Ideally out of static data like YAML or JSON.
  • Port the scientific packaging glossary over, recategorizing as required.
  • Publish!

Hey, There, @jaimergp Could I take on this research and revamp task?

Just a few clarifying questions on this tho -

  • Should It be ideally on a different page on the conda website? or on the same page as the FAQ (As learn tab currently redirects to FAQ)

  • on the 2nd task, "Port the scientific packaging glossary over, recategorizing as required", Could you please elaborate on this point a bit? Could you give a sample sample example for this where recategorization maybe required, for me to get a better context of it
