If you want to deploy a static website you can use GitHub pages (here's a guide on how to do it, How to Deploy a Static Website for Free Using Github Pages), however it doesn't support server-side rendering so if you want to display data dinamically fetched from an API you should use an hosting platform. Depending on the programming language of your project there are many platforms out there, I'll leave you a list of a few that I know:

• Render natively supports Node. js / Bun, Python, Ruby, Go, Rust and Elixir
• Pythonanywhere supports Python, Bash and Ruby
• Heroku supports Python, Ruby, Node.js, Java, PHP, Go, Scala and Clojure
• Railway supports Python, Node.js, Go and Ruby

I'm currently using Pythonanywhere for a Django project I'm working on with a GitHub repository, it integrates very well with Git and it isn't very complicated to set up , so if you are working with Python, I recommend this platform.
