Lensrater seems to smooth small pixellated images, rather than showing the raw pixels sharply.
The attached shows what I mean, this is a comparison between the lensrater display (left) and Preview on the Mac (right) which does what I expect and I think is the right choice for professional astronomers.
You could of course have it as an option, as smoothing is sometimes useful.
