I have this mostly working along with some state consolidation (moving most things to react-redux)

the one hold-up is a race condition that sometimes causes the animation to fail.

I'd be happy to turn it over to someone if there is enough interest. I am sure that I am doing a couple of things wrong. I am not that great of a dev when it comes to UI
