Goal
New volunteers should be familiar with the library they'll be working with! Your first goal is to empathize with our audience. Follow our existing tutorial and installation process. Anything that could be smoother? Make an [BUG/FEATURE] issue. Got new ideas, make a [ACTIVITY REQUEST].

Have a new activity idea but don't know all the details needed to make an activity request issue? Plop it in here as a new discussion point!

Hi Ryan! Upon reviewing the tutorial and setup process, I found it to be quite smooth. The code and activities were easy to understand and worked well. They explained coding concepts clearly without being too complicated. I couldn't think of any new activities to suggest, but I believe it would be helpful to include some activities that focus on the specific syntax of certain functions. By doing this, students can better understand these functions and use them effectively later on in their learning journey. Overall, going through the workshop was really fun and engaging!

Hi! Some new ideas I have are:

  • a flower blooming for spring
  • similar to the last idea, but a cherry blossom tree?
  • beach waves for the summer
  • leaves changing color for fall
  • in addition to my fire project, during winter, we could have it be like a crackling fireplace where they use random again to make the fire really bright for a quarter of a second (to represent the crackling)
