Unexpected token '?' with plugin only #476

I cannot find it, but at which point during the compilation does this plugin hookin?

My project is a Vue 3 Typescript project and for some reason I am getting an error like so:

Any idea why? The generated DIST seems to be the same as without the plugin

I did not include the HTMLWebpackPlugin as I was hoping this isn't necessary as I just followed the: https://github.com/chrisvfritz/prerender-spa-plugin#basic-usage-webpackconfigjs

If more information is needed - please ask - it's business code so I cannot directly share it
