Gomobile eam is getting close to having bitcode support.

Tracking these issues for progress:
golang/go#22395

  • got it working.

golang/go#31022

  • issue with submission to app store. They have contacted Apple to sort out mach codes.

Wow, this is just great! I suppose that lack of bitcode support was one of potential stoppers from using this library for real production development. Another one is lib size but at least one of drawbacks is now gone.

I am outside but from my limited understanding it's because people are worried Apple will mandate bitcode soon.
As they move to Arm chips for everything.

@FZambia So go-mobile now supports bitcode but doesn't actually thin?

@drewpitchford it adds sufficient size overhead yeah. I can't say exactly at moment but you can expect at least 10mb of app size overhead I suppose.
