Any calibration / offset support

I bought two TEMPerX232 (V2.5) USB devices and they appear to work fine, but their temp difference is often off by 1.5 degrees between each other:

$ sudo ./temper.py

Is there a way to define an offset for one or both the cards so the readings are closer to reality?

I don't think there's a way in temper.py but the vendor website seems to indicate a way to calibrate it (see here: https://pcsensor.cn/IOT-Devices-details?product_id=789&_l=EN at the bottom). Not sure if the calibration is in the software or something you put inside the firmware.

It would be possible to do some kind of per-device offset, but it would have to be specified by USB port, and it would be added to the CLI call -- like this:

sudo ./temper.py --offset 002:014+1.5

If implemented, just keep in mind:

• we don't save any state about the device
• this is specified by USB port, so if you physically move things around, you'll need to remember which device is off by 1.5, and specify the new port for that device.
