Running a webserver has two downsides:

  • Open endpoints are a security hazard if not guarded carefully. Removing them completely removes the need to provide authorisation.
  • Running a custom webserver is costly, hosting statics is cheaper and more performant.

Idea:
Keep the webserver as an easy means to get going and setup something, but in parallel explore the way to compile a static report bundle which can be hosted easily.

Provide an example hosted via AWS S3/Cloudfront with a runtime which polls for updated periodically via EC2.
