Hello hello!

This project has been forked and will continue to receive updates over at @hello-pangea/color-picker. Some cool improvements:

  • Removed and updated a ton of dependencies
  • Support tree shaking
  • Reduced bundle size by 40%
  • Rewrite most of the codebase in TypeScript

I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who helped to write and maintain react-color, they did amazing work.

  1. npm install @hello-pangea/color-picker
  2. Replace all imports of react-color with @hello-pangea/color-picker
  3. Enjoy :)

This should be added to the README, additionally maybe npm deprecate this package with a message referring to the new package/location.

Cool to see all the new development over in the new repo. I want to second what @kdubb mentioned though, it would be good to add a note or mark this repo as readonly, and maybe pin this issue. No offense intended to you @Xhale1 but having this announcement come from someone who hadn't made any contributions to the original repository triggered my suspicions. The new repo all looks good of course, but showing some kind of "official" endorsement from this repository to use the new one would assuage a lot of concern.
