The current admin interface available for Calagator is very basic. There are two areas that are particularly hard to use:
Duplicate events and venues
The forms for "squashing" duplicate entries are nerve-wracking to use. When events are imported, a new venue is often created even if one is already in the system, because there's a slight difference in the name or address (we could address that problem separately). As a result, a certain amount of cleanup helps people who enter their events directly on the website so that they can pick the right venue entry (frequently there is one that has all of the contact information and accessibility info already listed).
A better interface would make it possible to see the details of the items you were attempting to match, then move the entries into some sort of stack that would allow you to choose the primary entry and copy details from the others. It should not be possible to accidentally match unrelated items just because there are somewhere else on the giant form.
Locking events
Sometimes it's necessary to lock events from further editing due to people changing or deleting them as a form of harassment. Ideally I'd like to be able to give trusted users a key that would allow only people who had it to make edits, but currently the admin has to lock and unlock the event directly in coordination with the people who need access. This is also a giant form.
My request for this ticket is that we create mockups of better UI options that can be used to plan out the work for the features.
