We tried upgrading from cake.git 3.0 to cake.git 4 and get the following error on calling GitBranchCurrent

var branch = GitBranchCurrent (thisRepo);

Error: repository path '...' is not owned by current user

Environment:

  • Using a windows docker system inside a gitlab ci/cd
  • The gitlab runner pulls the repo without any issues
  • We even "git config --global --add safe.directory '*'" inside the docker environment.
  • Cake.git v3 runs the build without any issues
  • Cake.git v4 throws the error

I know in the newer libgit2 have some additional security policies. That is why we added the safe directory a couple of months inside the job script.

Is there a way to tell the cake.git embedded git library that the current directory is "safe"?
